The HIC Meter is designed for accurate, reliable and efficient impact testing in accordance with:

  • EN 1177:2018

  • NZS 5828:2015

  • SANS 51176/51177

 

Two meter configurations are available, depending on the level of automation, reporting and wireless functionality required.

 

Option 1: Single Drop HIC Meter

The Single Drop HIC Meter is a practical, entry-level option for operators who are comfortable manually recording and managing test results.

 

The headform is released using a manual mechanical push-button system. Results are displayed directly on the headform’s onboard screen and are then recorded manually by the operator.

Option 2: HIC Platinum Digital Meter

The HIC Platinum Digital Meter is the complete professional testing system, providing wireless operation, digitally controlled drops and automated data collection and reporting.

 

The system includes a magnetic release operated through the digital device, with test data transmitted wirelessly to the mobile app and desktop software.

Key Features

 

Standards Compliance

The HIC Meter uses certified accelerometers and is designed to undertake impact-attenuation testing in accordance with EN 1177:2018 and the applicable requirements of NZS 5828 and SANS 51176/51177.

 

The standard system is capable of testing from drop heights of up to approximately 3.60 metres, subject to the release and supporting equipment being used.

 

Simple and Reliable Operation

Both meter options provide fast and accurate test results. The Platinum model adds wireless connectivity, digitally controlled release and automated data management.

 

Professional Reporting

The Platinum system can generate clear PDF and CSV reports, including customised company branding and project-specific information.

Optional Extras

Tripod system suitable for test heights of up to 3.00 metres.

Swing Tester - Additional hardware and software configuration for undertaking swing impact testing.

High-Height Testing - Software option allowing testing from heights of up to 5.50 metres when used with appropriate supporting and release equipment.

 

Delivery - Please allow approximately four weeks for configuration and delivery.

 

Training - Operator training is available at an additional cost. Training can cover:

  • Equipment setup

  • Drop-test procedures

  • App and software operation

  • Data interpretation

  • Report generation

  • Care and maintenance of the equipment

 

Calibration, Repairs and Support

Calibration of the HIC Meter accelerometers is required every two years in accordance with EN 1177.

 

Playsafe provides New Zealand-based support as an accredited service agent, including:
