Accident Investigation

Playgrounds are mostly fun, thrilling and safe places for children, however unfortunately some can become a scene of broken limbs, head, neck or back, life changing injury or even death.

There are usually many factors that contribute to playground injury - Playsafe is experienced in the investigation of playground accidents and can conduct inspection to provide useful infomation on possible contributors of the accident and then solutions recommendation.

We firstly apply NZS;5828 compliance inspection to the playground equipment to check for safety issues and report including checking overhead body support heights, fall heights and fall zones, entrapment, surface condition etc.

Fall-related injuries continue to account for more injuries on playground

equipment than any other hazard scenario. Reported fall-related deaths most often involve head injury. We undertake post-injury surface testing to check Impact attenuation of the playground surface and report.

Accident investigation Includes:

  • Conduct a physical inspection of the completed equipment using NZS:5828:2015 entrapment probes

  • Conduct surface impact testing (HIC) if required

  • Provide a playground inspection report including accident reporting consideration.

Ideal for: All playgrounds following an accident or incident.
