Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do the products meet safety standards?

A. Yes. All our equipment meets A.N.Z. standards 5828 and 1924.

Q. Can we supply special order one offs?

A. Yes. In most instances we have the ability to source products from around the world or make up locally.

Q. Is freight included?

A. All quotations clearly spell out if freight is included or extra. Clients can arrange their own transport should they wish.

Q. Can the matting systems be moved and reused to another site?

A. The interlocking modular nature of the mats allows for the entire system to be lifted and relayed onto a new sight. The one thing to keep in mind is, if the mats have been cut around posts you may need to purchase a few replacement tiles to accommodate this.

Q. Are the mats secure and vandal proof?

A. All mats are glued together, around the perimeter of the site a purpose built fixing pin is used to secure the mats to the surface. As with any product that is left unattended if people really want to cause damage they will ultimately succeed.

Q. Can the Safety Matta and Play Matta join together?

A. Yes these two mats are inter-lockable and it is quite common to have the Safety Mattas joined onto the outsides of the Play Mattas as a ground retention strip.

Q. What is wrong with using bark?

A. There is nothing wrong with this product as long as you keep the required thickness (approximately 150mm- 6 inches). It will need to be turned over regularly to keep it loose and uncompacted and you will need to add more bark at a latter date as it tends to disappear from the site over time. Another issue with this type of loose fill product is contamination e.g. animal droppings, broken glass and sharp stones obviously this is not the healthiest or safest type of problem to have where children are at play. As a general rule of thumb you will more than likely have to replace the whole site within 2 years time.

Q. Can I buy a recycled yellow or orange mat etc?

A. The virgin range of colors is produced from exactly that (virgin material). Using virgin material we are able to achieve the high visibility colors like bright blues, yellows oranges etc. The recycled material can only produce the flat matt type colors.

Q. How do I work out the required area?

A. You need to multiply the length x width of your site to give the square area required. Keep in mind you will need to allow for the required fall zones that are applicable to your country.
